AVONDALE, La. (April 11, 2026) – Caleb Campbell won the season-opening Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) race at NOLA Motorsports Park on Saturday morning. Marking the second win of his career, Campbell (No. 68 Steele Auto Group / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) returned to F4 U.S. for his sophomore season while moving under the Kiwi Motorsport banner.

Notes of Interest:

• Caleb Campbell earned his first win of the 2026 season and second of his F4 U.S. career when he took the checkered flag in Race 1 at NOLA Motorsports Park.
• Zach Fourie earned a career-best finish with his second-place result in the NOLA season opener.
• In his series’ debut, Gastón Irazú earned his first F4 U.S. podium with a third-place result.
• The 2025 Champion in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship, Gastón Irazú advanced to F4 U.S. this season with support from the Champion’s Scholarship. The program granted Irazú the lease of a Ligier JS F422 car and Ligier Storm engine from Ligier Automotive, as well as race tires from Hankook Motorsports and race entry fees from Racing America.
• While the series is known as F4 U.S., the Race 1 podium showed its global appeal with three nations represented. Campbell hails from Canada, while Fourie is a native of South Africa and Irazú lives in Uruguay.

Having earned his first-career pole, Zach Fourie (No. 15 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) led the field to green for the season-opening race at NOLA Motorsports Park. With the South African immediately jumping to the point, an incident back in the field brought out the full-course caution leaving Fourie to defend his lead minutes later. Able to once again take control of the race, Fourie continued to lead as the race passed halfway. Another full-course yellow bunched up the field, which gave Campbell another chance at the lead. Staying perfectly in step with Fourie as they raced through the opening turns, Campbell made his move as they reached Turn 3 and overtook the lead. 

Never looking back, the Canadian led the field to the finish line claiming the first checkered flag of the 2026 season. Behind him, Fourie finished second, while Gastón Irazú (No. 27 Elia Group / Baly / Canal 4 / Ancap / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F422) came home third.

I was able to get Zach Fourie at the restart in Turn 3, and I just tried to keep up the pace, building a gap away from the rest of the field. It was a great race.”
