Lewis Hodgson and Michael Costello lead F4 U.S. Practice for the NOLA SpeedTour

AVONDALE, La. (March 10, 2023) – With the official opening day of the 2023 season complete, Lewis Hodgson and Michael Costello paced the two practice sessions today at NOLA Motorsports Park.

Returning to the series for the first time since last year’s NOLA SpeedTour event, Australian Lewis Hodgson is back in the field piloting the No. 30 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F4. Hodgson had a 0.408-second advantage over newcomer Jimmie Lockhart (No. 48 Velocity Racing Development Ligier JS F4). After joining the series for the 2022 season finale, Titus Sherlock (No. 31 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F4) was third, followed by Patrick Woods-Toth (No. 27 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F4), a graduate of the Radford Racing School’s F4 U.S. “Karts to Cars” program. Michael Costello (No. 19 Jay Howard Driver Development / CSU One Cure / Lucas Oil / LHP Ligier JS F4) rounded out the top five.

In second practice, Costello topped the practice chart during his F4 U.S. debut weekend. Hodgson followed in second, followed by sophomore driver Carl Bennett (No. 9 Gonella Racing Ligier JS F4). Cole Kleck (No. 11 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F4), another driver who made his debut at Circuit of The Americas in November, was fourth quick, followed by Woods-Toth in fifth.

F4 U.S. will qualify tomorrow at 8:30 a.m., with lights out for Race 1 scheduled for 1:45 p.m. CT. Following Race 1, fans at NOLA Motorsports Park will have an opportunity to meet the stars of F4 U.S. with an autograph session on the first floor of the Event Center beginning at 3:15 p.m. CT.
