Tavella and His Ride with Dylan Initiative Compete in Home Event This Weekend

Dylan's story hits the web as youngster heads to New Jersey Motorsports Park

Heading to the penultimate round of the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, rookie driver Dylan Tavella will compete in his home race. Taking on the 2.25 mile New Jersey Motorsports Park this coming weekend, the Miller Vinatieri Motorsports driver will look to take his 'Ride With Dylan' branded machine to the front of the field over the September 14-16 weekend.

It has been a busy week for Tavella's program as just last Thursday, the story behind the 'Ride With Dylan' initiative was made public via a sixteen minute long video. Talking about the past, the present and the future as well as difficulties at a younger age, the emotional story was distributed via social media as the program continues to grow and raise money for the Children's Leukemia Foundation.

"It has been a season long project and hard work by a lot of people to launch Ride With Dylan," explained Tavella. "Now that it is up and running and the story has been made public, I can shift my focus back to the race track this weekend. New Jersey Motorsports Park is a home event for me and even though I have not competed on the big car track, I was on the karting circuit earlier this year. I am excited to welcome all my family and friends trackside."

With only two events remaining on the 2018 calendar, both are big for Dylan. With this weekend being his home event, the final event weekend of the season will be at the famed Circuit of the Americas (COTA) alongside the Formula One World Championship.

Tavella continued, "It is going to be incredible to be racing on the same circuit, over the same weekend, as many of the drivers I look up to. F1 is the premier category of motorsports in the world. It is going to be awesome."

On track competition is set to kick off on Friday with three official test/practice sessions before Saturday morning's qualifying. The first wheel-to-wheel competition of the weekend will take place on Saturday afternoon while two more races will take place on Sunday.
