Cape Motorsports Triumphs over JDX Racing in Team Standings

After an outstanding three wins and three top-10 finishes at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Cape Motorsports turned a 16-point deficit into a 45-point advantage over the reigning team champion JDX Racing, snatching the lead in the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda team standings. JDX Racing has lead the series in team points since the inaugural season finale.

Global Racing Group trails the inaugural team champions by 31 points to round out the top-three.

"It’s been a real roller coaster ride so far,” said Cape Motorsports Co-Owner Dominic Cape. “Everyone on the team is working extremely hard and it has taken an immense effort so far to get the points lead. I know we'll have to work even harder to try and keep it, especially, with all the teams competing at such a high level. As the saying goes, it’s not the size of the man in the fight, but the size of the fight in the man, so as a team we'll keep pushing."

Kiwi Motorsport showed a tremendous gain in points after adding Dakota Dickerson of San Diego to its roster, jumping from last place in team standings to sixth. After being iced-out in Indianapolis, Primus Racing got back on the board following a career-best weekend from Austin McCusker of Glen Head, New York. Single-car team Crosslink Racing is also holding its ground after three top-10 finishes at CTMP from its pilot Jordan Sherratt of Durban, South Africa. The Dallas-based team is now contending in the top-10.

Indy Motorsport Group, Miller Vinatieri Leguizamon Motorsports and Jay Howard’s Motorsports Driver Development also scored valuable points in the third F4 U.S. event.

Team Championship points are calculated from the teams’ top-two drivers’ standings from each individual race. In the case of a tie, the team with the most race wins will be awarded the higher position.

The F4 U.S. Championship teams are back in action for Rounds 10-12 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, Aug. 10-12. Fans can view full team point standings by clicking here.
