In an extremely close qualifying round, the top-eight Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda drivers were only separated by about eight tenths of a second. Four different drivers topped the results sheets during the 30-minute qualifying session at Virginia International Raceway on Saturday before Crosslink/Kiwi Motorsport driver Arthur Leist clicked off a flying lap (1:54.282 ) that earned him another pole-position start for Race 1.

"Qualifying went well," said Leist. "We got our second poll in a row from qualifying. I am really grateful for my team. We were working so hard last year and this year to get some good results, and it's starting to pay off. Now we are going to shoot for race wins and score some good points for the championship."

Leist eclipsed the fast time of Jay Howard Driver Development rookie Christian Brooks by around just three tenths of a second (1:54.650). Leist's Crosslink/Kiwi teammate Jose Blanco will start in Row 2 (1:54.789), sharing it with DEForce Racing rookie 9 Guilherme Peixoto, his best staring position of the season (1:54.799). Joshua Car and Teddy Wilson rounded out the top-six times.
