June 8, 2026 – Champagne Racing enters the upcoming Racing America at Mid-Ohio event with strong momentum after a standout weekend at Road America, where the team delivered pole positions, race wins and front-running performances across both the Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) and Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC).
At Road America, Gastón Irazú delivered a breakthrough weekend in F4 U.S. competition. The Uruguayan driver opened the event by securing his first-career F4 U.S. pole position, setting the tone for what became a dominant weekend for the No. 27 Champagne Racing Ligier JS F422.
Irazú converted that pace into his first F4 U.S. victory in Race 1, leading from flag to flag and controlling the race from the front. The result marked an important milestone in his progression after moving up from Ligier JFC, where he was the reigning champion.
He followed that performance with another impressive drive in Race 2, earning his second F4 U.S. win of the weekend. In changing conditions, Irazú showed composure, race craft and confidence, reclaiming the lead after an early challenge and pulling away to secure back-to-back victories for Champagne Racing.
“Road America was a very special weekend for Gastón and for the entire team,” said Champagne Racing. “Earning his first F4 U.S. pole and then converting that into two victories shows the work he has been putting in and the strength of the program behind him. He drove with maturity, confidence and speed all weekend.”
Champagne Racing also celebrated success in Ligier JFC competition with Beckham Jacir, who continued his strong Gen. 1 campaign at Road America. Jacir started the weekend by earning pole position in the Gen. 1 class, his second consecutive pole of the season.
In Race 1, Jacir battled through a highly competitive race, trading positions and managing multiple challenges before coming through to take the Gen. 1 victory. The win marked his third of the season and reinforced his position as one of the strongest contenders in the championship.
Jacir returned to the top step again in Race 2, earning his fourth win of 2026 and second victory of the Road America weekend. After working his way into position and applying pressure at the front, he completed the pass for the lead and brought home another important result for Champagne Racing while continuing to lead the Ligier JFC Gen. 1 standings.
“Beckham has continued to show consistency, patience and speed,” said Champagne Racing. “Road America is a track where drafting, timing and decision-making are critical, and he handled those moments extremely well. His performances in both races showed why he continues to be a championship leader in Gen. 1.”
The Road America weekend ended earlier than planned when heavy rain, lightning and hail forced the cancellation of Sunday afternoon’s races. Although both F4 U.S. and Ligier JFC lost their third races of the weekend, Champagne Racing left Wisconsin with multiple wins, two pole positions and valuable momentum across both championships.
Now, the focus shifts to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, one of the most technical and demanding tracks on the calendar. With its elevation changes, narrow racing surface and rhythm-based layout, Mid-Ohio presents a new challenge for drivers and teams alike.
Champagne Racing arrives prepared and motivated, looking to build on the success from Road America while continuing to execute at a high level in both championships. For Irazú, Mid-Ohio represents an opportunity to continue his F4 U.S. momentum after a breakout weekend. For Jacir, it is another chance to defend and extend his position in the Ligier JFC Gen. 1 championship fight.
“Road America gave us a lot to be proud of, but we know every weekend starts from zero,” said Champagne Racing. “Mid-Ohio is a completely different challenge, and we are ready for it. The drivers are focused, the team is prepared and everyone is motivated to keep pushing forward.”
Champagne Racing will return to competition June 11–14 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the next rounds of the Formula 4 United States Championship and Ligier Junior Formula Championship.
