Cooper Shipman Takes Pole at VIRginia International Raceway

ALTON, Va. (September 19, 2025) – Continuing his momentum of seven-consecutive victories, Cooper Shipman took the pole position in Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) on Friday afternoon. For the seventh time this season, Shipman (No. 14 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) will lead the field to green after posting a 1:52.691 lap. Alex Popow (No. 55 Dr. Michael Thompson MS DDS PPLS / MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) will start second for MLT Motorsports, while Caleb Campbell (No. 68 Kids Help Phone / Camtacc Properties / Legacy Foundation of Canada / LC Racing Ligier JS F422) will line up third.

Friday morning featured the series’ sole practice session. There, Popow narrowly led Shipman with just a 0.194-second advantage over the championship leader. Campbell was also third in that session, showing consistent pace at the Virginia circuit.
