Carl Bennett Tops the Practice Chart at Road America

PLYMOUTH, Wis. (May 19, 2023) – Carl Bennett (No. 9 Gonella Racing Ligier JS F4) paced practice for Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda (F4 U.S.) at Road America on Friday afternoon. With a 2:21.465 lap in the series’ only practice session, Bennett held a 0.040-second advantage over the field. In his sophomore season, Bennett is coming off his first-career win after taking the checkered flag in the series’ opening round of competition at NOLA Motorsports Park in March.

Michael Costello (No. 19 Jay Howard Driver Development / CSU One Cure / Lucas Oil / LHP Ligier JS F4) is hot off his first podium finish in Round 3 at NOLA. After earning two pole starts during that weekend, Costello is once again proving his speed in F4 U.S. with the second-fastest lap in practice.

Rounding out the top five on the speed chart, were Michael Boyiadzis (No. 3 Jay Howard Driver Development / CSU One Cure / Lucas Oil / LHP Ligier JS F4), Cole Kleck (No. 11 Velocity Racing Development Ligier JS F4) and Patrick Woods-Toth (No. 27 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F4).
