Noah Ping Sits Third in the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda Heading into VIR This Weekend
October 5, 2022 After a long break in the 2022 F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda season, VRD Racing driver Noah Ping is hoping to close the gap in the championship points chase this weekend in the fifth event weekend of the season. The series continues its race schedule at the 17-turn VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) facility for the penultimate event of the series.

Ping, who has had a successful rookie year with VRD with a pair of victories and five podium finishes in twelve races, has surpassed all expectations in the championship standings to date. Winning races and standing on the podium in nearly 50% of the events this year, Noah currently sits third in the overall series standings, just 49 points behind the leader.

“We’re in a great position to take over the championship, and we have six races left to make sure we end up on top,” explained Noah Ping, “VRD has given me a great car at every race this year, so we’re excited to get back to it after a two-month hiatus.”

With a maximum of 75 points available this weekend a total of 150 points until the final checkered flag of the season, Ping is well within range and a major threat to take the championship trophy in 2022.

Ping continued, “No matter what happens in the series championship, I have learned a ton and look forward to continuing to climb the motorsports ladder.”

Noah Ping will take to the hilly, 3.27-mile road course of VIRginia International Raceway on Thursday for testing in preparation for the Andy Scriven Memorial at the Mission Foods VIR SpeedTour race weekend. With Thursday reserved for pre-event testing, official practice and qualifying will take place Friday on the 17-turn legendary track. Wheel-to-wheel action will begin on Saturday and run through Sunday with three races. Following the final checkered flag on Sunday, drivers will shift their focus to the last event of the season at the Circuit of the Americas in November.
