Jason Alder Resets After Road America as He Has His Eyes on Mid-Ohio

Rookie sits second on the championship but ready to attack

With a dream start to the season including two race wins and three podium finishes in his F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda debut weekend, Jason Alder is now set to attack the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. After rocketing out to the championship point lead after round one though three, Alder had a weekend to forget at Road America but still holds onto the second position in the overall point standings.

“I had to learn a lot of things the hard way at Road America. I have to take what I have learned this year and focus on the rest of the season,” explained Alder. “I am looking forward to having a strong presence this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.”

Showing his skills in both wet and dry weather competition in 2021, Alder quickly asserted himself as the championship favorite with victories to start the season. Looking to bring back-to-back F4 championships to the Velocity Racing Development (VRD) program, Alder nearly capped off a perfect weekend at Road Atlanta.

Currently six markers behind the current point leader, Alder is only half a point ahead of the third-place driver and his VRD teammate in the championship.

Alder added, “I have a great team behind me in VRD and a great group of partners that believe in my skills and abilities, so the goal is simple moving forward. I can’t wait to get to Mid-Ohio and begin my fight for the top step of the podium yet again.”

With a pair of Promoters Test Days taking place on Wednesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 24, qualifying will take place on Friday as rounds seven, eight and nine will take the green flag over Saturday and Sunday as the season reaches the halfway point.
