With the taste of victory last event, Evans is hungry for more at COTA
Erik Evans will close out his 2020 season this weekend, October 23rd-25th, in Austin, Texas at famed Circuit of the Americas (COTA). With three rounds remaining in the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, Evans hopes to continue his streak of solid results with help from his Velocity Racing Development (VRD) team.
Evans has shown massive improvement throughout the second half of the season. After leaving Sebring International Raceway with his first podium and a fourth-place finish, Evans was determined to continue to improve. At his most recent event weekend, Evans earned his first race win of the season in his third and final race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Now, Evans is determined to finish out the season strong and build momentum for whatever his 2021 campaign brings.
“Coming out of Miami with the success we had there, I have been laser focused on finishing strong, being mentally and physically prepared for COTA,” expressed Evans. “To be a part of the success that VRD has had in 2020 is amazing. To win and podium with more than one driver shows a lot about how Dan’s driver development methodology and preparation have been key to the success of the program. The goal this weekend is to earn as many points as possible to see how high I can finish in the series title chase.”
Taking on the 3.426-mile course, Evans will start the weekend on Friday with two practice sessions followed by qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday. The 2020 F4 US Championship will come to a close on Sunday after the final two back-to-back races to finish out the 18-round season.
