Alliance Racing brings three drivers to Sebring
September 25, 2020 - While many industries have canceled 2020 events entirely, and other sports are just now getting to take their first green flag, the motorsports community has collectively worked together to get back on track. This weekend marks the first event in the second half of the season for Alliance Racing as the F4 United States Championship is back in action at the Sebring International Raceway. With back-to-back weekends in Florida, the next ten days will see six events that will likely shape the chase for the championship and springboard momentum into the 2021 season.
With the break between event weekends, Alliance Racing has taken the opportunity to refresh, rebuild and test. Completely overhauling their Ligier JS F4 machines, Alliance Racing also hit the track testing current and potential drivers at the Sebring International Raceway and Autobahn Country Club.
"The break in the season hasn't really been a break," explained Toney Edwards. "We traveled to Florida to test for this coming weekend's event but also logged days of testing with four potential new drivers that could possibly join the season this year and / or in 2021. We have been working very closely with Al Unser Jr. and he has proven to be a valuable asset to the program as he brings knowledge, experience and a different approach to driver coaching and career advancement."
Shifting the focus to this weekend, Alliance Racing will enter three drivers in the first of two back-to-back race weekends. With the first wheel-to-wheel action taking place at the Sebring International Raceway, Alliance Racing will hit the track Friday for two practice sessions before three race rounds take place over Saturday and Sunday. Packing up and moving a few hours south for the next event, there will be three days of downtime before competitors are back on track at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for three more races.
Hayden Bowlsbey, Will Holtz, and Will Edwards will lead Alliance Racing into the second half of the season as the Indianapolis based program brings only three drivers to the Sunshine State. Recently completing a test down South, Alliance Racing is anxious to kick off the second half of their season as well as continue their Alliance Driver Development Academy (ADDA).
