Good Performance in Recent Races Leaves Gui Peixoto Confident for Mid-Ohio Round

After a good performance, two weeks ago, at Virginia International Raceway, the Brazilian Guilherme Peixoto gets even more confident for the fourth triple round of the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Aug. 8-10.

The series will start its second half of the 2019 season with free practices on Thursday. Qualifying will take place on Friday along with the 10th and 11th races of the season. On Saturday, the drivers compete for the final race of the weekend.

Holding the eighth place in the overall standings and second best rookie, Peixoto was very close to his first podium in the last round. The driver has been showing a quick evolution in the category in his debut year in single-seaters, scoring points in eight out of the nine races so far.

As with the other circuits, Mid-Ohio's 3.6-km, 13-corner layout will be new to the Brazilian driver, who defends the DEForce Racing team. To learn about the track, Peixoto also practiced two days at the All in Sports simulator in Miami.

“The expectation for this round is very high. In Virginia, we had a very fast car with a chance of winning”, said the young driver. “I hope to keep the same performance in Mid-Ohio and try to secure a victory or our first podium. I did a few laps on the track in the simulator and I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to be in the cockpit of my F-4 again."
