Sitting Ninth in Series Points, Canadian Ryan MacDermid Heads to Mid-Ohio This Weekend

Rookie driver in F4 United States Championship looks to gain more points in rounds 10, 11 and 12

Entering the second half of the 2019 F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda season, rookie Ryan MacDermid is ready to take on the 13-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Heading to Lexington, Ohio after a very short break, the young Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy driver is hoping to have another solid weekend.

"So far, I think I have had a pretty decent rookie season," MacDermid stated. "This is my first year out of karts so every weekend brings new opportunities to learn and grow as a driver. This season, I am learning as I go, and I think I have proven myself within the team and the series and shown that I am supposed to be here. I really want to stand on the podium before the end of the season and maybe even a win."

Heading into rounds ten, eleven and twelve, MacDermid is presently ninth in the championship points standings, with only six points separating him from the seventh place position. The young Canadian has continually proven himself with numerous top-ten positions so far this season, but he is still in search of his first podium.

"I have been racing with the front of the field and close to the podium a couple of times this season," MacDermid continued. "Being so close, but not quite close enough, is only making me want to fight harder to get that first podium. I know I have to grow a little more as a driver and everything needs to go right for that to happen in this competitive series"

MacDermid will have three chances this coming weekend. The event will kick off on Thursday, August 8th with two test and two practice sessions in preparation for qualifying and two races on Saturday. Finishing out the weekend, MacDermid will have one final race on Sunday morning.
