Race Tech Development Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy Looks to Rebound at Mid-Ohio

"Team puts VIR behind them and focuses on the future"

In what can be classified as only a disappointing weekend at the Virginia International Raceway less than two weeks ago, Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy is focusing forward. Set to tackle the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend, the Indianapolis based program and their five-driver lineup will travel to central Ohio as the season passes the halfway mark.

"The good thing about having two event weekends so close to one another is that we can shift our focus and get over the disappointment of VIR," expressed Team Owner Toney Edwards. "There are positives and negatives in everything we do, so the downside to this is that we have a lot of work to get done, cars to turn around and damage to fix. The guys have been working overtime to get it all complete, and I commend them for their hard work and efforts."

With the upcoming event taking place August 8-10, the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda competitors will run their traditional two practice, one qualifying and three-race weekend, but be moved forward one day. On-track action will begin Thursday with the final checkered flag flying Saturday afternoon.

Edwards continued, "Despite some bad luck and disappointment, there were several high points on the weekend. Rookie driver Ryan MacDermid added another pair of top-ten results finishing sixth in race three last weekend while female racer and fellow series rookie Zoey Edenholm scored her first points of 2019, a goal that she wanted to complete before heading to the final round in Texas in October."

Back on track at Mid-Ohio, Alliance Racing will enter their quintet of drivers that include Will Edwards, Chandler Horton, Dylan Tavella as well as Edenholm and MacDermid. Looking to regain their form from races prior, the drivers dubbed "The Monkeys" are aiming for the front of the field.

Practice will begin on Thursday this week with qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action on Friday. The second and third races of the weekend will take place on Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned to the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda and Alliance Racing social media pages to keep up on all the action.
