On the first day of official training for another Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda round, Brazilian driver Kiko Porto (Petromega / BF / DEForce Racing / Speed Group) showed why he is the leader of the championship. In the first morning session, he completed the fastest time of the day among the 25 cars that entered the Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Porto secured the mark of 1:42:070, getting the first place in practice.
In the second session, however, the conditions of the track changed and everyone got longer than the morning practice. On board the No. 12 car of the DEForce Racing team, Porto had the fourth fastest time, with 1:42:712.
"It was a good practice day and we closed with the best time this Friday, but we still have a lot of work and who hit some details for tomorrow's qualifying workout. God willing it will be all right.” Kiko Porto commented after training.
On Saturday, the training that defines the positions in the starting grid will be at 11:30 am and at the end of the afternoon, at 4:40 the beginning of the first of the three races of the weekend. On Sunday, Race 2 is scheduled for 11:10 am and closing the weekend of the second round, race 3 at 3:35 pm.
