Ryan MacDermid Aims for More Points at Pittsburgh International Race Complex this Weekend

New goals set for MacDermid in Pennsylvania

With a successful debut in the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, Canadian driver Ryan MacDermid is ready for his second event weekend of the series. Traveling to the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum, Pennsylvania, MacDermid will be reunited with his Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy program for rounds four, five and six of the 2019 championship.

It has been a long seven weeks since Road Atlanta," explained MacDermid. "As a rookie, you live for being in the seat and soaking up all the information, details and experiences so to have a big stretch of off time between events is hard. Luckily I have had the opportunity to do a few test days as well as drive some other cars and compete in some karting events back home."

Set to take on the 19-turn, 2.8-mile road course, MacDermid's goals are similar to his series debut back in March.

"I want to keep the car safe and try and gain points in each of the three races over the weekend," added MacDermid. "I achieved a pair of top-ten finishes in Atlanta which was high on my list, as well as being able to start a race in the top-five based on my previous lap times. In my eyes, it was a successful debut, but I am hungry for a podium result."

Competing with the Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy outfit, MacDermid will be one of five drivers in the program but is a rookie in the open wheel formula car ladder program.

MacDermid continued, "Three of my teammates have experience in F4 from previous seasons and the five of us work really well together. We are able to share data, watch one another's videos and push each other to the next level. "

Currently sitting fourteenth in the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda point standings, MacDermid will look to catapult up the charts this weekend in Pittsburgh. With a series test taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday will be a quiet day before official action gets underway on Friday. With two practice sessions ahead of Saturday morning's qualifying, wheel-to-wheel action will commence Saturday afternoon for the first of three races on the weekend. Sunday will be the home of rounds five and six.
