Aske Nygaard Bramming set to drive for top F4 U.S. team at Circuit of the Americas
Crosslink/Kiwi Motorsport expands its internationally talented roster to a six-car fleet with the addition of 2017 Danish Formula 5 Champion and current Danish Formula 4 driver Aske Nygaard Bramming. The Danish-born driver joins the top-tier team for the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda season finale at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, supporting the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix Oct. 19-21.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to bring myself into the F4 United States Championship than teaming up with Teena (Larsen) and all at Crosslink/KIWI Motorsport,” said 16-year-old Bramming. “They are leading the team championship and have a professional team supporting a group of very talented drivers. Indeed, it’s a very important race for me, as it is also a possible career move.”
For Bramming and his associates, COTA is a race to test his possible entry into a full 2019 F4 U.S. season.
“I have always tried to push myself to the next level, driving no more than one season in the same series,” Bramming continued. “Although it has led to a steep learning curve, it has also somehow developed me as a driver, and I have been very lucky throughout my career, as I have been blessed with positive results. After one season in Formula 5 and one in Formula 4 in Denmark it is time for me to raise the barrier once again. Driving in a new car with a different engine than I am used to, and competing in a large field of qualified competitors will definitely push me to develop further.”
Starting his racing career in karting at just six years old, Bramming has won more than 100 trophies in his racing career. Bramming claimed the FIA-NEZ Nordic Champion in KFJ Karting and was also the first foreigner to step on the podium in the Swedish karting championship. In 2017, he started his single-seater career in the Danish Formula 5 Championship (previously Formula Ford), where he took the victory as Danish Champion. He donated his prize money to Fight Cancer – after losing his Grandfather to cancer – honored with the Fair Play Prize at the 2017 Danish Motorsports Award Show. As a Formula 4 driver, Bramming was honored with the Talent of the Year Prize at the 2018 Danish Motorsports Award Show.
“Aske is a talented young driver,” said Crosslink/Kiwi Motorsport co-owner Teena Larsen. “We know that he is among the top drivers in his country, and we are all looking forward to working with him. He will be testing with us the weekend prior to COTA, so it allows us to get acquainted and for him to be familiar with the car and the team.”
In a strategic partnership packed with experience and ambition, Crosslink Racing and Kiwi Motorsport merged during the off-season to become one in a bold attempt to win the 2018 F4 U.S. team championship after each spent most of the 2017 season as a single-car effort. After uniting resources, the Dallas-based group expanded into a top-tier team, breaking multiple championship records, including sweeping a podium with Crosslink/Kiwi Motorsport drivers represented on each step and scoring the most overall team points in an event. Heading into the final two rounds, the five season-long Crosslink/Kiwi drivers are in the top-10 in standings with two still vying for second and third in the overall driver championship. Bramming intends on using the vast team experience gained at COTA to build his race craft.
“I am a race driver. Per default, I always drive to win. But I also drive to learn,” Bramming said. “My goal is to leave COTA and Crosslink/Kiwi Motorsport as a better driver, and to show my abilities as a race driver. Only time can tell how far it will take me on the track.
