Trailblazing: Angela Durazo Debuts the Reintroduction of the Legendary ELF Racing Line in North America at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in FP4

If breaking norms and records in racing were its own championship, Angela Durazo of Los Angeles would not only be leading, she would be shattering the competition. This year alone she was the first female to enter Formula 4 United State Championship Powered by Honda, the first American to introduce MIR Raceline to the U.S., the first Automotive pilot to debut ELF, a brand of Total, in the North American formula racing market and now, Durazo is making history this weekend as the first female to enter Formula Pro USA Western Championship (FP4), the Western F4 series affiliated with the SCCA Pro Racing's F4 U.S. program. And she's accomplished all this in just her first nine months behind the wheel.

Durazo will pilot the No. 177  ELF and SetPoint Medical Formula 4 Ligier in two rounds at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca July 27-29 in the FP4 Championship. Durazo signed with PR1 Motorsports, owned by Bobby Oergel, late last week. The team’s alumni and active pilot roster include an impressive list of accomplished drivers like IndyCar stars J.R. Hildebrand and Charlie Kimball.

"I am beyond honored to sign a deal with Elf, a brand of Total. Since its inception, the ELF brand has won an unheralded nine Formula 1 titles," said Durazo. "To represent a new era of driving with the backing of their racing lineage and elegance, I feel that I can truly conquer our goals and develop into a Championship winning Elf driver, bringing more titles to the legacy. I am also really excited to debut their product at such a legendary track like Laguna Seca on an even more impressive team like PR1 Motorsports."

While ELF's historical brand of continued success can be tracked back to 1939, Durazo is the first American motorsport pilot to use the brand in the Untied States.

"We we very impressed by Angela's hard work, determination and commitment to succeed in her racing career," Special Fuels and Additives Manager Nora Weinberg said. "Because of this, we thought she would be the perfect person to introduce ELF into the American market."

In 2003, ELF merged with Total which is now the fourth largest oil company in the world and an expert in the field of racing lubricants.

Durazo will participate in two practices on Friday, in qualifying and one race on Saturday and wrap up the weekend with the final round of racing on Sunday.
