F4 U.S. Drivers in Action: Pedersen Becomes National Child Advocacy Center Champion

As the newly appointed national spokesperson for VidaNyx, Benjamin Pedersen of Copenhagen, Denmark, used his platform during the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda mid-season event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to raise awareness for Child Advocacy Centers (CAC). Child Advocacy Centers across the nation help nearly half a million children annually who are victims of sexual abuse and neglect, and with the help of the VidaNyx, a new secure, cloud-based video technology designed by Giving Tech Labs to keep the stories of victims safe, Pedersen is shedding light on the growing need for funding and technology in the centers.

“Having great sponsors like DirtFish and Bell Helmets has afforded me the opportunity to partner with another great company, Giving Tech Labs, whose mission is to support social innovation through sustainable technology,” Pedersen explained. “A crucial element of the CAC case management is recording interviews, and with the help of VidaNyx, children’s trauma will be minimized by not having to retell their story to different individuals, so they can start the healing process faster. It also serves as evidence for the judicial system hopefully preventing others from being victimized by the same predator. However, there is lack of funding for these child sanctuaries, and I’ve made it my mission to increase awareness and help fundraise.”

Pedersen’s bright orange and black No. 24 DirtFish Global Racing Group F4 front wings were adorned with the VidaNyx logo at Mid-Ohio, and in preparation for the next event at Pittsburgh International Race Complex, the car will have a new set of numbers displayed.

“The car number will still be 24, but fans will see another number on the car, 300,000 which represents the number of survivors the CACs help annually,” said Pedersen. “Before working with VidaNyx, I had no idea that that many children were victims of sexual abuse. With the inclusion of neglect cases, that number is rapidly on the rise. I want people to know that this is happening in their communities and encourage them to take action locally.”

Pederesen experienced a great points’ weekend during the mid-season F4 U.S. June 29-July 1, earning three top-10 finishes. The next stop for the F4 vet is Pittsburgh International Race Complex Aug. 3-5. For more information on Global Racing Group’s Racing for Good initiative visit GlobalRacingGroup.com.
