New Virginia International Raceway Event Scheduled for F4 U.S.

SCCA Pro Racing officials announced that the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda event slated for April 28-30 at Virginia International Raceway has been rescheduled to run with IMSA Aug. 25-27.

“Circumstances beyond our control required VIR to move the April F4 U.S. event date to August,” said SCCA Pro Racing Vice President Steve Oseth. “While we regret the scheduling impact this places on our teams, both VIR and SCCA Pro feel this date more suits our needs.  Not only does the IMSA date attract a bigger audience with more media attention, but also it is situated in the summer and therefore doesn’t impact the normal school year for our young competitors.”

IMSA will host F4 U.S. as its secondary series two times in 2017. The Championship will travel North with IMSA making its first international racing debut in Canada at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park July 8-9 with its second IMSA showing at VIR.

The remainder of the 2017 F4 U.S. schedule will stay the same with the series visiting some of the most prestigious tracks in North America.
