F4 US Champion Das Entered to Make European Formula 3 Debut

Opportunities continue to unfold for Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda competitors. Inaugural F4 U.S. Championship titleholder Cameron Das of Brooklandville, Maryland, is slated to make his European racing debut Saturday during the BRDC British Formula 3 Autumn Trophy at the Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk, United Kingdom.

The one-off season closer allows teams to evaluate potential new drivers for the 2017 season, offers additional mileage for current BRDC British F3 drivers and permits drivers looking to get their first experience with the F3 car to enter.

“The competition here is really competitive. I’m very excited to be participating in this year’s Autumn Trophy,” Das said. “It’s been an easy transition for me from F4 to F3 with some minor challenges. F4 U.S. helped me improve my race craft and bridged the gap from karts to the higher downforce of the F3 cars. This series also uses Pirelli Tires which has made the learning curve a bit easier.”

Das, 16, was recruited by the UK-based F3 race team Carlin to compete this weekend and hopes that this opportunity will land him a permanent seat to race in the 2017 BRDC British F3 season.

Das takes on the challenges of Snetterton on Saturday and Sunday over the course of two qualifying sessions and four races. Event test days are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

Timing and scoring for the event will be posted on BritishF3.com.
