SANTIAGO, Chile / LEXINGTON, Ohio, U.S. (June 10, 2026) – Clemente Huerta Raab, the only Chilean driver competing in an FIA-sanctioned formula car category, will continue his push to advance in the Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) this weekend during a challenging round at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
This marks the third round of the North American series, featuring a double-header format on both Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th, with competitors from the United States, Canada, South Africa, Uruguay, and Mexico. The 17-year-old driver is already at Mid-Ohio to begin track activities on the winding, 3,633-meter circuit—characterized by elevation changes—where rain is forecast for Thursday and Friday practice sessions as well as Sunday's Race 2.
So far, the Speed Factory team driver has faced a tough start to the North American tournament, recording three fifth-place finishes and one DNF (Did Not Finish) across four races; he currently sits in the top five of the standings with 36 points. Naturally, Huerta is not satisfied with these results.
“The results achieved so far haven't met expectations,” commented Huerta, who races for Speed Factory-Velox USA. “Whenever I hit the track, I want to be on the podium, but it hasn't happened because we haven't had the fastest car. In the first round, we used a set of tires that were past their prime. In the second round, we had battery issues, and there was a lack of power. Then, the clutch failed. That’s how you learn. We’ve had plenty of lessons.”
Regarding this weekend's schedule, qualifying for Race 1 takes place on Saturday, with the race itself starting at 15:40 (local and Chile time). Race 2 is set for Sunday at 10:35 AM. Huerta will be aiming for the podium in both races. Meanwhile, during his downtime, the driver has to study for his school commitments.
“It’s hard to juggle all my activities—my final year of high school, preparing for the PAES university entrance exam, traveling, and racing. It’s like living two lives at once. I have just a few months left until I finish my senior year. I’ve had to balance two demanding pursuits, and I’ll keep doing both as long as I can. It’s difficult to stay focused, but I’m working on it,” the young driver notes.
The action at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course kicks off this weekend. Fans can follow the entire competition via social media and the official timing platforms for FR Americas and the F4 U.S. Championship.
